More Changes – The Lockdown
The timing was perfect for me when I was able to come home after settling my Mom back in her place and before the coronavirus surge was started in Korea. As soon as I finished my own quarantine at home the lockdown took place in Ireland in March. Again, SeungHee had been taking care of the ministry while I was gone, and with all the restrictions we too had to go online with Fireside Gathering in order to continue. Schools got closed and the students were sent home. We missed in-person fellowships, but did what we could do with the given situation.
Yujin’s dance competitions also have been going online since March. With the dance school closed and online competitions and programs arising, we emptied the biggest room in the house and turned it into a dance studio for him – Not big enough, but good enough. It worked just fine for him and he’s been winning online competitions just like before. This also opened up broader opportunities for him to have online training programs that he had not been able to have locally. He’s been learning new skills with that and preparing for college.
