JooYoung Park and his wife SeungHee are full-time missionaries with Youth With A Mission (YWAM). Ever since joining YWAM in 1990 they have been working in the areas of mission strategy, mobilization, and training to see the gospel be preached in the most strategic mission fields first.
They came to Sligo, Ireland in 2015 to head up a joint project of YWAM NSI and YWAM Sligo, to pioneer the School Of Strategic Missions (SOSM) which is a career missionary training course of YWAM. They are currently planting a few grassroots ministries to widen the basis of the ministry first. These are to reach out and disciple college students from different countries of Europe, Asia, Middle East and Latin America, and the local homeless; and to mobilize and train the local churches. It is eventually to creat a ministerial ecosystem cycle that produces young new missionaries for today’s strategic mission fields.
JooYoung fell in love with SeungHee and married her in 1995, and they have together served in 4 different countries, for a long term in each place, moving across the oceans and the continents. In the meantime, the Lord has blessed them with three beautiful children. As of 2021 Summer, their oldest son Kevin is serving in the ROK Marine Corps (South Korea) and the daughter Hyejin is in college in Colorado, and the youngest son Yujin is about to go to a performing art college in London in September.

I Chronicles 12:32 tells us about “…[the] men of Issachar, who understood the times and knew what Israel should do.” They were the strategists of their day for God’s Kingdom here on earth. They understood the spiritual season they were living in, and the geopolitical dynamics happening all around them. They also understood God’s goals for the world they were living in, and what the people of God should do to accomplish those goals.
Here at YWAM NSI, we have set our hearts on being just like the tribe of Issachar. Through fervent prayer, revelation from God, travel to “spy out the land”, and a lot of hard work doing extensive research, we have been following God into His strategic harvest fields in this tumultuous season of spiritual history that we have been born into.
In answering the question, “What should the people of God do?” we identify, launch and coordinate global strategic initiatives – “big idea” plans that are more than any one mission organization or church would accomplish by themselves.
